Sunday and Monday, November 10 and 11
On Sunday we arrived at the Mount Cook - known as Aoraki or "cloud splitter" in the Maori language - National Park. We went to the visitor's center and museum then walked the Governors Bush and Red Tarn tracks.
On Monday we walked the Hooker Valley Track. This path goes to a lake at the base of Mount Cook. Along the way, you cross over three hanging bridges. There is a glacier at the edge of the lake with a few icebergs in the water. We also saw some Mount Cook lilies in bloom.
