DAY FOURTEEN - Wellington

We left the Hawke's Bay area and drove to Wellington.  In the afternoon we visited the country's national museum Te Papa.  

Afterwards, we went to a somewhat hidden speakeasy bar.  On the walk back to our hotel we saw some street art recognizing the HBO "Last Week Tonight" commentator John Oliver's role in the selection of a bird that won recognition as New Zealand's Bird of the Year and Century in 2023.  The puteketeke or Australasian crested grebe is an endangered species.
