We drove to Blenheim this morning. The area is best known for its Marlbourgh wine district and award winning Sauvignon Blanc (more on this tomorrow...).
Our first visit was to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. The Centre has World War I and II airplanes. We visited the WW I section that included life-size rebuilds of historic airplanes and some original models. One early airplane features wings and a tail like a bird. There were also many classic airplanes on display.
The Centre is supported by the Hobbit movie series director and features life-size movie set scenes with airplanes and people. One depicted the death of the Red Baron.
