DAY THIRTY - Otago Peninsula to Dunedin

Friday, November 15

We said goodbye to the Roselle Farm Cottage.  Melissa and Madeleine enjoyed bottle feeding lambs at the farm in the mornings.

Our first stop on the way to Dunedin was Larnach Castle.  The Castle reminded us of the Victorian mansions we visited along the Hudson River.  Some differences included a tower with a flag pole used by the owner to communicate with his two ships when they were in the harbour and an early methane plant in the basement to provide energy for the Castle.

Later we visited the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.  There was a Rita Angus self-portrait and an early portrait of a Maori leader.  In the area around the Gallery there was some interesting street art.
